our philosophy

The frequency of climate events is increasing rapidly. For society and biodiversity to thrive in the future it is clear that, in addition to dramatically reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we need to deliberately remove atmospheric carbon dioxide1.  At the same time “overly hasty deployment of new ocean-based climate interventions risks harm to communities and ecosystems and could jeopardize public perception of the field as a whole.”2

That is why ‘moving with urgency’ for us necessarily involves being good stewards. We are focusing first on understanding the impacts and quantifying the drivers of carbon sequestration in our ocean. Only by addressing these uncertainties can we deem our current and future efforts meaningful & beneficial.

our commitment

move mindfully, fix things

we believe that the pressing climate crisis demands swift, impactful solutions. Yet, we’re equally committed to ensuring these solutions are pursued with the utmost respect for ecosystem vitality, proven effectiveness, and fairness across communities. To that end, we are involving key stakeholders from local communities, government, and academia; and gathering the right data to validate our efforts. Our commitment is clear: to ensure that every kilogram of carbon that we sequester in the future actually contributes to the reversal of global temperature rise, while preserving the delicate ocean ecosystem so threatened by climate change.

We also believe that without proper incentives, obtaining the funding necessary to develop, validate, and deploy ocean-based carbon removal is unrealistic. We are an investor-backed, for-profit entity. However, we carefully select for supporters who understand and align with our principles. These collaborations are grounded in transparency and a shared commitment to mitigating risks associated with ocean-based carbon removal. We acknowledge the uncertainties that accompany our mission but view them as opportunities to attract dedicated, forward-thinking partners. These partners are motivated not just by financial gains but by a shared ambition to achieve safe, scalable, and equitable carbon dioxide removal that not only meaningfully addresses the climate crisis but also safeguards our planet for future generations.

In every step we take, Oasis embodies a dedication to innovation, integrity, and safety, working tirelessly towards a cooler, healthier planet for all.
